Hi Lovlies! Thought I'd check in. I have been baking up a storm lately. Thanks everyone for your orders! Did you know that I don't always bake lactation goodies? Yep, I make cakes and muffins and cookies and my favorite, whoopie pies! If you'd like to order something other than lactation cookies/muffins let me know. Alternatively, I can also add lactation-boosting ingredients to your favorite cake. The muffins are totally freezable for after school snacks or lunch boxes. I can make most items gluten-free, vegan, and/or nut free as well. Contact me for pricing and any questions.
Hard to believe it's been a year since my last post! School has started back up again here in Sydney, which means it's time to get back to work. I'm hoping to keep up with my blog and website more often as I see my last post was this time last year, yikes!. What do you lovelies like in a blog? Definitely open to any feedback. I know I'd love to add more recipes! In the meantime, please contact me for ordering info so I can get back to baking for you!
Happy New Year, lovelies! I hope that everyone had a great holiday season. My kiddo started back at school this week, and that means it's time for me to get some ideas for his lunch box. As an expat, I've noticed slight differences in lunch box items. Like the slice. A slice is what we called a bar cookie in America. Now, usually the lunchbox slices are somewhat healthy involving oats and almond/peanut butter. But I have seen some with chocolate, etc, that look more like a dessert. I think this week I'll work on a sugar free bar for school or after school snacking. If I come up with something, I'll definitely share it with you! In the meantime, I'm itching to start baking for you, so contact me for ordering!
Hey Lovelies! Need a gift idea for the new mom this holiday season? Look no further! Lactation goodies make a great gift! I'm officially open, so get those orders in.
Well, lovelies, I think I'm ready to start baking you some goodies. It's been a long process and I'm sure there will be more tweaking as I go. So, if you're in the Inner West, please contact me to order lactation cookies and muffins!
Well, I've finally been baking lactation cookies. I have discovered a favorite cookie here among the Aussies: the ANZAC Biscuit. It's a delicious oatmeal cookie traditionally eaten around ANZAC Day(but can be found year-round). I have tweaked the recipe to make it lactation friendly, and hope to be adding it to my menu soon!
Well, we've been here a year now. Actually, 13 and a half months. Finally familiar with things here. We've met a lot of lovely people and just adore our neighborhood. So with all that being said, I'm ready to sell some goodies. I'm working on making myself legal here. I now own lechelove.com.au for the locals, and my name has been registered. So, slowly making progress. Stay tuned for more updates, lovelies!
Well we've been in Sydney for 6 months now. Happy Aussiversary to us. Let me tell you, the last 6 months have been a whirlwind! We're just about settled in, but are thinking of moving homes again... We've finally been able to do a little more sight-seeing as well.
So far, it's beautiful here. Pretty mild weather so far, for it being winter. We have figured out how to heat a terrace home after a month of trial and error. We finally found a system that works for us, and now it's spring... So next will come keeping the house cool I'm sure. Thankfully, the house is brick so should stay pretty cool for a bit, but I see a fan purchase in our future. We're so used to living in 100+ temps with central air, so this will be a change. I have to say, I did not miss Texas's summer. That alone is worth staying abroad.
Well, lovelies we made it to Sydney! We actually just celebrated our 3 month Aussieversary (sorry for the cheeseyness)! We've settled in, built most of our furniture, and have the kiddo in school. I'm slowly meeting new moms, and miss making lactation goodies, but soon I hope. I'm not quite sure if I can bake out of my home legally here, but it would certainly be lovely. I did find out that cookies are called biscuits here... In the meantime, I hope to find a baking job here to stay "in the know" with baking culture. It's very beautiful here. We're into autumn and the leaves are just changing. The weather stays between 50-70 degrees in the winter where we live, so can't beat that! The people have been friendly and the beaches are indeed gorgeous! Well, hope to keep updating on our adventures here, so stay tuned!
Sad to say, but Leche Love is now officially closed. In a month, my family and I will be moving to Sydney, Australia. We are looking forward to our new adventure, but will miss everyone dearly. I have loved making lactation goodies for both new and old moms. I have met some lovely women along the way. As of now, this is a temporary move, so in a couple of years I do plan to start back up again-bigger and better! I'm hoping to learn new things in my travels as well. Anyway, it has been a pleasure to bake for you guys, thanks! Oh and I left a little recipe for you over in my recipes section to get you through my absence!
My name is Melissa, and I'm the owner of Leche Love. I make lactation cookies and muffins for breastfeeding moms!
